 "Special Citation Presented to Alvin E. "Gabby" Renninger, President, Pottstown Aircraft Owners & Pilots, Inc., Whose dedication to general aviation, the Limerick-Pottstown Airport and PAOP knows no bounds. AOPA is proud to recognize your enthusiasm and dedication to general aviation." 

The Civil Air Patrol honored Gabby with a plaque in recognition of twenty years of dedicated service to Squadron 906 on March 4, 1976.  He and fellow honoree Sidney Pollock helped to establish the Pottstown Branch of the 906 Squadron.  Gabby participated in more than fifty search and rescue missions. 

Here are some of the other awards Gabby has in his trophy room: 

Certificate of Recognition from the Silver Wings Fraternity, Aviation Pathfinders Award on March 2, 1963 for doing the most to encourage private flying in Pennsylvania. This presentation was made at a dinner in Harrisburg. 

Commendation as a Pioneer in Aviation by the OX-5 Club of America, Pennsylvania Wing, October 24, 1964. 

Certificates of Participation, Pennsylvania Elks State Ritualistic Contest, Pennsylvania Elks Association, June 1966, 1967, 1968. 

1969-70 Elks Cerebral Palsy Honor Roll and 1969-70 Presidents Golden Keystone Honor Roll, Pennsylvania Elks Association. 

Citizen of the Month Award, April 1970, by the Mayor of Pottstown. 

Certificate of Meritorious Participation, Spirit of St. Louis 45th Anniversary Flight, by Silver Wings and Aero Graphic Newspaper, May 1972. 

Elks Distinguished Citizenship Award, Lodge No. 814, Pottstown, January 20, 1975. 

Certificate of Recognition, USA Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, J.H. Doster, Chief, January 12, 1977. 

Certificate of Appreciation for Patriotic Services, Pottstown Joint Veterans Council, November 11, 1984.

On March 22, 1995 a special award was presented to Alvin 'Gabby" Renninger commemorating "25 years [of] outstanding and dedicated service as President of the Pottstown Clubmens Association of 19 clubs in the Pottstown area."
